Protect Your Herd
We’ve been developing and marketing swine vaccines since 1993. Each serial is tested for safety, potency and purity. Over the course of the last few years, we’ve created new vaccines that are proven effective in both laboratory studies and in the field.

Edema Vac is the only federally licensed F-18 E. Coli product on the market, available in 100 and 500 dose sizes, and should be administered at 18 days of age or older. The receptor necessary to allow pigs to be actively vaccinated develops in most pigs between 15 and 20 days of age. Some herds that experience excess mortality may benefit from a second vaccination to account for this variation. In recent field studies in small and large scale facilities, ARKO’s Edema Vac demonstrated efficacy against virulent F-18 E. Coli by decreasing mortality associated with edema disease. This product is freeze-dried and should be stored at normal refrigeration temperature.
Entero Vac aids in the prevention of disease associated with the K-88 strain of E. Coli. It is available in 100 and 500 dose sizes, and should be administered at 17 days of age or older. In field studies ARKO’s Entero Vac demonstrated efficacy against virulent K-88 E. Coli by decreasing mortality and morbidity associated with enteritis. This product is freeze-dried and should be stored at normal refrigeration temperature.

Nitro-Sal aids in the prevention of diseases associated with Salmonella choleraesuis. It is available in 100, and 500 size doses, and should be administered at one week of age or older. Nitro-Sal offers flexible dosing, administered through the waterline or via injection. This product is a very stable frozen salmonella vaccine as it can be stored in a conventional freezer – typically for up to one year after purchase.
Nitro-Sal FD, like our frozen form of Nitro-Sal, also aids in the prevention of Salmonella choleraesuis, but in an easy-to-store, freeze-dried form. Product may be stored at refrigeration temperature. To use, re-hydrate and administer in the drinking water. Nitro-Sal FD is available in 100 dosage sizes.

Ery Vac aids in the prevention of disease associated with Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae. Erysipelas is carried in the tonsils and the intestine of 30-50% of the swine population. Year round vaccination is the best protection against an outbreak of Erysipelas. Ery Vac is to be administered through the waterline and is available in 100 and 500 dose sizes. This vaccine should be administered at age 8 weeks or older. ARKO’s Ery Vac is the only freeze-dried vaccine approved for one dose administration on the market. This product should be stored at normal refrigeration temperature.
The oral vaccine stabilizer produced by ARKO Laboratories is a combination of proteins, chemicals, sugars, and buffer that will protect live organisms when they are used as oral vaccines delivered through a watering system. The stabilizer will neutralize residual chlorine that may be present in the water line. It will maintain vaccines in a live state in the water lines for at least a six hour time period at a level necessary to induce a vaccine response in the target animals. Research at ARKO indicates that vaccines in plain, non stabilized water may lose much of their potency in the first hour or two of administration. This is not long enough to allow for vaccination of a large group of animals.
